start the day off with a smile

this morning i woke up to addie asleep and snuggled in on marks side of the bed. mark wasn't there. i figured he was laying with callie on one of the other beds, she was up a lot last night. when i came down the stairs it was quiet. no one to be found. i heard the hose and looked outside.








i had to chuckle. mark was picking weeds and callie, bare bum and all, diaper in her hand, playing in the sprinkler! it made my day.
we all got dressed and headed over to the gym. we got the car washed. then headed over to target to do get some little things we needed, diapers, milk. everyone is taking a nap at the moment. then i am sure there will be more water play in the backyard. bbq for dinner and then watch more olympics tonight.
its our weekend!!!

olympics

when i was growing we always watched the Olympics. it is something i really enjoy. especially women's gymnastics. i am really excited to watch it throughout the week! addie was really interested, and love to mimic what they were doing. she would go up to mark and do the little fake pat hug. it was hilarious to watch her!

so today i tried the grazing tray. (thank you ashley!) it worked out wonderfully so far. i didnt have very much produce in my fridge, since we have been out of town, but i did find some things that addie likes that she can snack on. here is a list of other foods that are great for the tray. i printed it out and put in on my fridge(like the article suggested). as soon as i put it on the table, she was chowing! and i am loving the idea that i can just leave it on the table, and when she wants a snack or something to eat, she can get it herself and has many options to choose from. and i am not wasting my time and energy making her all these meals that she isnt going to eat! so great! i think this will be a hit.

picky eater, or just not an eater at all?

Addie does not eat. i dont know how she isnt a bean poll. i have tried using cookie cutters and dips and making up fun names for the food, but it hasnt worked. not only that but she has the worst gag reflex in all the world. i put this heart toast with strawberry jam in front of her this morning, and she started gagging, put her hand over her mouth and said, "im gonna puke!" i dont think i am THAT horrible of a cook! but how can a child have so much energy and never refuel?

her sister on the other hand..... Callie will eat a whole waffle, a handful of cereal, a cup of milk, and her sisters untouched half waffle all in one sitting! she is the total opposite.

so does anyone have any clever food ideas?

dressing room in the Grand Ole Opry.

120 years ago country stars sang at the Ryman Studio. They were soon forced to find somewhere else to sing, so the Grand Ole Opry was built. this circle of wood was cut out of the Ryman stage and placed in the Opry stage. Everyone from Elvis to Carrie Underwood has sang on that spot. anyone who is anybody in country music has sang on that circle. if you appreciate country music, you will know how cool that is. it was awesome!

we enjoyed our trip so much! it was amazing! so beautiful. so full of history, accents, bbq, southern hospitality, and so green!
Nashville star was pretty cool. it was neat to see what they do during commercials. it was seriously such a small audience. there were only 400 people at the show. they make it look huge in real life. it wasnt, at all! we were in the back and we could still see the peoples faces and expressions on the stage. so cool. other than the fact that i had to sit by a drunk lady, who stunk and was so loud and was tripping over everything!
we did so much on our whirlwind trip. we even had some time to drive around and look at houses. we want to move there so bad. it was everything we have always wanted in a place to live. we will see. for now, i am finally back with my kids. i missed them so much. going to go play with some play-doh.

after nap sleepover

i walk into addies room.

me: "addie, what are you doing?"
addie: "having a sleepover!"
me: " what is a sleepover?"
addie: " i donno."
me: "what do you do at a sleepover?"
addie: "this!" (jumping up and down on her bed)
