fundraiser event

the fundraiser turned out to be a great first boutique experience. it started out with high winds and all mechanise scattered on the ground,,,, multiple times. i almost packed up and went home before it even began. but my husband was amazing and held me together. him and his brother helped line up all the earrings and string them together so the wind wouldn't take them away. sweet boys i tell ya.

my lovely assistant addie had a ball playing cash register.

i met some awesome local etsy artists, TipandFifi being one of them. her shop is down right now while she adds some goods, but when it comes back up, you have got to check it out. she has some lovely items!

and thank you to everyone who showed up and said hi! thank you to my family and my sweet husband who helped me during the event and for their support. i love them.

she loves her sissy

this little girl is so sad when we drop off her big sister at preschool. the screams and cries alligator tears for addie the whole way home. and the whole 2 1/2 hours that she is gone, she is asking where addie is. it breaks my heart, but at the same time makes me so happy that she loves her sister so much.

when we pick addie up, callie always asks her, "what you learn about add?"
addie will tell her what she learned about and did, and then addie will ask callie the same question, and callie will holler," Jesus!"

i love them!

addie starts preschool

i have to admit, i got a little choked up after i drove away from Mrs. Marnis house. Addie was thrilled! She was fully dressed and ready to go at 6:30 am. she wasn't nervous, scared, shy or hesitant. she was excited to meet new kids. she has always been this way, so i guess i wasn't surprised. callie was sad that she couldn't go with sister. she wanted a backpack and snacks. but we had fun, just callie and me. i haven't ever had one on one time with her. it was nice. i enjoyed it very much.

my mom wrote a poem for addies first day of preschool.....

Away She Goes

Away she goes , this little one,
out the door to have some fun.
Off to places we can’t go,
learning things we’ll never know.

Away she goes , to find her place,
with sunshine splashed across her face.
She’ll brighten every persons day,
with sweetness spread along her way.

Away she goes, so full of love,
she is a gift from up above.
Music flows from her sweet lips,
And kindness from her fingertips.
[addie and her teacher, Mrs. Marni]
Away she goes, this little one,
out the door to have some fun.
With angels by her side each day
To guard her while she is away.
M. Walker
**my mom has an amazing talent that very few people know about. writing poems. it just comes to her. i have many other poems that she has done that i hold dear.

addies friend party

addie turns 4 soon. i gave in a threw her a tea party.

as the guests arrived in their dress up best, they were pampered with some blush, eye shadow and lipstick.

then made their way to the table for a little tea party lunch ( all items requested by addie herself) of fresh fruit, mini pb and honey sandwiches, cheese, meat(rolled up, another strong request), and crackers.

we played a few rounds of duck duck goose, turned up some hannah montana (another request i couldnt get past) and let the girls show their dance moves.
then we had some dainty little treats and mini cupcakes.

favors were passed out at the end of the pretty little bash,

a rosette clippy and salt water taffy,(again her choice).

Happy Birthday Addie!

you have to try this!

husband and i love thai. a little more than usual lately. i crave it! we go to the Thai House on Power and Southern. we both love the Gang Ka-Ree. (i am salivating). it has chicken, onions, potatoes, carrots, curry, coconut milk, and some hot and spicy :). pour some of it over rice and, delish! i have yet to attempt to make it. it is by far THE best thing i have ever eaten.
** tell us about the best thing you have ever eaten, maybe share the recipe if you've made it, or tell us the restaurant you had it at.

the pod swaddler and a new favorite blog

i came across this lovely gals blog and fell in love with all the tutorials she had available. i splurged and bought the pod swaddler tutorial from her shop. i made one for a dear friend who is having a baby boy....

it is already to be sent to her. i used a tag similar to the ones i have for sale in my shop.

and of course i had to make one for myself. this pattern was so simple and easy. the second time around i didnt even need to use the pattern and it took me maybe 30 min. i have since made the car seat canopy, and have plans to make some let warmers, fabric shoes, and this darling little handmade fish toy.

i cant wait to see his cute little head popping out of it:)

these would be great to make as shower gifts, thats what i plan on doing.
go and get a pattern for yourself . :)
happy sewing!

stayin cool

o how we love to swim. and so grateful we have gg's (great grandmas) pool to visit whenever we please. we do canon balls, dives, go down the slide and play shark until we are all tuckered out. then we eat our sack lunch and dry off in the sun. arizona summers will always mean time in the pool.
