she insisted on stirring her own chocolate milk.

notice the newspaper. its opened to the auto section. mark was looking for a motorcycle! not happening honey! sorry!

addie is getting so big. i didnt want to forget her pulling her chair up to the island whenever i start to cook. she always wants to help and says, "i do it!"
other little things to not forget:
* calls callie sweetheart.
* loves her princess crown and shoes.
* is starting to dress herself.
* has an obsession with chapstick
* pretends to talk on the phone to cinderella, mimi, papa, and other unknown people.
* loves to sing
* counts like so.... 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,14,15,14,15,14,15
* when she wants something... " i want ummmmmmmmm"
* is always asking where people and things are. wheres mommies purse, wheres peyton, wheres mimi, wheres soap.... on and on and on
* makes fishy faces and says, " im nemo, your dori.

i love you addie. you are a busy girl, but you are my precious darlin. i love to cuddle, although you dont let me very often because you cant hold still. i love that you giggle when i give you butterfly kisses. i love you, and at this very moment i wish you would never grow up. tomorrow we can make banana bread and i will let you stir.

i am debating on if i want to cut my little ones hair! her daddy likes it long. its just getting kinda snarly when it is down. i think she would be cute with a short bob for summer. we will see?

i got the supernanny book i have been wanting. on the back it gives a list of some of the nannies strategies...
*preventing fussy eaters form taking over mealtimes
*resolving your child's sleep problems, once and for all
*avoiding sibling rivalry battles
*how to talk so your children will listen
*how to enjoy parenting without it feeling like a chore
*how to establish a routine that works for you
*how to bridge the gap between you and your children
*how to get the most from your children and yourself
i soooo need this book. it may sound as though i am a horrible parent and that my kids are totally out of control, i dont think it is that way yet, but i am excited about this book so that it doesnt get any worse. i am NOT a perfect mother and need some help here and there. i hope this book can give me new hope!:)will update on how its all going.
for now i am on my way to put my girls in their swim suits, cut up a watermelon and head outside. maybe even fill up the little pool, and get a little supernanny reading in!

bits and pieces

we have been out in the yard, planting flowers and trees. making more shade. hopefully by next year i can pick some oranges and lemons in my own backyard! it has been such hard work but is so worth it. we have had to make a few repairs, the porch swing being one of them! uh oh!

i have so much on my list of want to dos. not necessarily anything that needs to be done but that i want to get done. like purchase some fabric to make some summer skirts/dresses for me and my girls. i have my eye on these...

these would also make great additions to a quilt. something i have also been wanting to do. so many things to do, never enough time. or maybe not enough arms and eyes! taking care of my girls has taken up most of my time recently. it seems as though a switch has been flipped and i have a crabby, never satisfied unless being held 8 month old and a whiny, mischievous, disobedient 2 1/2 year old. i do love them dearly, but i need a break! sigh.
another thought, what do you do if your hands are covered in disease causing hamburger meat and your baby starts choking and needs her mouth swiped!?? just a thought i never thought of until after the fact!

easter sunday

saturday we dyed eggs in hopes that the easter bunny would come.

her whole hands were green by the time we were done!

sunday morning came... and so did the easter bunny.

the children were too sick to go( or be allowed) in nursery, so they stayed home with mimi and papa while me and mark were able to enjoy a wonderful and uplifting church meeting. in all the bustle i failed to get a picture of my darlings in their sunday best. hope your easter day was spent with the ones you love and thought about the wonderful gift of new life given to us.

trying to find things that will bring us outside to play. our dog sure doesn't help but that will hopefully not be a problem soon!:)
this cute little lady bug sprinkler caught my eye.

swaying back and forth on my porch swing. i think it needs a few pillows to top it off. and i need a fresh squeezed lemonade in my hand!

evidence of a wet one running in for a hug.

miss addie waving to daddy from the new double decker carousel. Mary Poppins would be so proud of you! Tally Ho!

the little ladies met the easter bunny.
as all Thursdays are, i am exhausted and need a nap but am so glued to this stupid computer! why on earth do i have restless legs and my right arm aches all the time? and not to mention i always am getting headaches? maybe from sitting on an uncomfortable computer chair, scrolling pages with my right hand and starring blankly at a screen for hours on end. Happy Thursday.

my baby is 8 months old. she had her well infant check-up this morning. she is 27 1/2 in. and in the 75% for height. 16 lbs 11 oz and in the 25% for weight. she is our little one, as mark calls her.
some facts on our Callie Mae:
*loves her bath time. that is when she is happiest.
*wakes up twice a night.
*loves the pantry and will go for the same ol ramen noodle bag every time the door opens.
*pulling herself up to things.
*loves banana and vanilla baby food.
*loves to be held and follows me around everywhere
*laughs when you say peek a boo
*lets me know when i need to vacuum. finds every little thing on the floor.
*doesnt like her clothes or diaper changed.
*still nursing (hopefully till 1 yr. old)
*loves it when daddy comes home. me too!!!
we love our little munchkin so much. she is a delight.

beautiful sunday. spent most of it in bed coughing. but it was still beautiful.

the Higbee family had its annual easter egg hunt. addie very much enjoyed it. makes me excited for the REAL thing ON easter. i am trying to think of things to fill her basket with other than candy. my mom would always get us something Christ related. a cd, book, etc. i have a few things in mind. what do you fill your little ones basket with? or if you dont have wee ones yet... what did you get in your basket growing up?
dont forget to wear green tomorrow!
xo Jess
p.s.
