question from a 4 yr old

:: doing girls hair in the early morning hours ::

the other day, walker succeed, yet again, to poop everywhere but in his diaper. how does that happen? every time!
i was getting him out of his clothes and cleaning him up.
addie turned to me and asked as serious than ever,
" does jesus love brother, even though he blew out of his diaper... AGAIN!?"
oh, her little mind.
yes, sweet girl, jesus loves us, no matter what.
he always will.
have a wonderful weekend!

more time outside

:: mobile uploads ::

we found another awesome park yesterday. we could have stayed there all day if we could. as you can tell, we have been spending a lot of time outside. i am taking advantage of these cooler days while they last. we will be eating outside and going to the park everyday until the heat gets cranked up past 90 degrees.

its my hubby's weekend. we are going to go to costco, watch movies, pick weeds, get the car washed, and just enjoy our little family.

being together.

yesterday for Family Home Evening we had a picnic in the backyard. i picked up a $5.00 pizza and we sat by the citrus trees and inhaled the sweet aroma. that is one of my favorite smells... of all time!

we talked about showing people we love them. we talked about making people happy. we talked about our day. we talked about not picking the orange blossoms off the tree. callie picked all the pepperonis off her pizza to make it the "cheese kind." we talked about spring. i watched addie kiss callie on the cheek and give her a hug. me and mark laughed, but i cant remember what about. i remember feeling happy, seeing his smiling face.

its in these short moments of time that i gain strength and courage to get through the hard times. moments of just being. being together.

it is such a sweet moment in our lives we are living.

purty pillows

walker, loungin on mamas new purty pillows.

this swing is ready for hot summers, mama and baby watching girls play in sprinklers, late night bbqs, sunset watching, and lemonade sipping.
whenever i get a chance, i want to paint this pretty little end table. im thinkin red.
i was thinking yellow. i Love yellow! but our chicken coop is yellow, and my kitchen is yellow.
red will be cute. i can just picture it now....
red table, vase full of sunflowers sitting on a lacy doily, glass of lemonade....

scattered thoughts and happenings of the morning

:: view from my pillow ::
.
.
.
.
i either got food poisoning or a 24 bug.
laying in bed, listening to the birds sing a spring song.
im afraid to try and eat breakfast.
mark took the kids to run errands this morning.
i am thoroughly enjoying this quiet.
can i muster up enough energy to clean my bathrooms?
walking from room to room and opening the windows.
the perfect cool breeze is making my drapes flutter and its wonderful.
i didnt tell my girls good bye before they left this morning with daddy, shame on me.
date night is called off due to my sickness... i will have to have mark go on a redbox run for tonight instead.
off to take a warm shower and let my ears soak up this absolute quiet.
enjoy your weekend.

sometimes you just have to laugh

i know! i said it too!

what the???????!!!

this would be addie with mud makeup.
she found dirt (aka fly poop) in her window sill, (bad house keeping on my part), went to the bathroom and got a cup of water and poured it in the window sill to make mud, and continued to make mud(poop) makeup.

i know,,,
what the????!!!!!

it has been one of those days...one i cant even explain to you what actually happened.
thank heaven for tomorrows right.
i will be waking up with positive phrases going through my head,

keep calm, carry on.
its all going to be ok.
yes, you can.
its going to be a bright sunshiny day.
peace be still.
breathe and smile.

now that i mention it, one of these uplifting phrases would be perfect in my kitchen.
front and center, to remind me that life is good.
.
even if i find my daughter slathered in fly poop... i mean, mud.

easy art

for the longest time my little downstairs bathroom was bare, i couldn't find any art that i liked to display. couldn't find the colors i wanted or the print i wanted. but i did find some fabric that would be perfect... if only i could display it in some way.

well i could!

my cute cousin from boston shared this simple, cant get any easier idea to make simple art.
here it goes...
go to your fav craft store,
buy an art canvas, the kind that painters use,
buy some rockin fabric that you cant part with,
iron out any wrinkles in your fabric,
lay your canvas over your fabric and cut around it leaving about to inches on all sides(like wrapping a present),
fold over your edges and staple with a staple gun to the back of the canvas,

and whaddya know...

your done.

love this idea so so much. canvas' come in all sizes so it makes for a truly custom project.
thanks cuz for this diy!
