i haven't shared anything crafty for awhile. i have a few things that would be fun to share that are easy peasy. here it goes....
i love the cherokee plain Ts from target for my girls. they are so soft, they fit nicely and i love the little scalloped detail on the neck and arms & they are only $5.00. like em!
i wanted to jazz up these Ts to match some skirts i found, and this is what i came up with. anyone can do this, it was so simple and took me no time at all....
first i found a few fabrics from my stash that matched the skirts...
i cut (or you can rip it for a frayed edge) some strips out of the fabric, about 1 ft. long.
i cut (or you can rip it for a frayed edge) some strips out of the fabric, about 1 ft. long.
i placed one of the strips at the very top of the shirt, in between the collar and sleeve and began to sew down the middle of the strip. stopping every inch or so, i gathered, or pleated the fabric and continued to sew the ruffles in place. (i had to occasionally stop and lift my footer to gather and catch the pleats).
i sewed 3 strips along the one side. you can make them as long or short as you want but cutting the excess fabric off at the end.
and wa la! a cute ruffly shirt. that's all there is to it!
i love it, she loves it, and we are both happy.
i cut different sized circles out of all the fabric, layered some of them, and placed and pinned them on the shirt how i wanted.
then sewed them in place with a criss cross, pie section look.:) they don't have to be perfect, in fact, the more imperfect the better in my opinion.
and there ya have it! im getting excited for spring can ya tell??
tomorrow i will share my spring wreath i made...
its awesome! :)
