i am looking forward to a new year

some things i would like to do in the new year...... no pressure added. i am not one for resolutions. but i do like the idea of a new start, and new year to do things better, to change.
welcoming 2009:::::
cook more meals and introduce more new foods to my family
make my house a home
do more crafts with my kids
maybe have a baby, maybe
learn to knit
dont get discouraged
become organized, for real
video tape my children once a day
get to bed early, on a regular basis
serve
become unafraid of the telephone
spend less, save more
listen
make my family laugh
be a better wife
be a better mother
be a better friend
chill out (not let stuff bother me so much)
forgive and forget
pray
learn
plant a garden
play with my kids
do more, click, scroll, type less
find confidence
live each day
be happy

things on my mind, things to do, things going on

:::i have a lot on my mind right now. when i write things down i am put at ease and can relax a little. it is written, down so i dont have to worry that i will forget it. make sense?
:::mark just left with the girls to run errands. i am left with a quiet house to finish the wrapping, sewing, planning, decorating. ahhh, thank you mark.
::: i will updating my etsy shop with more earrings and necklaces soon. be on the lookout!! :)
:::addie has been doing a lot of pretend play recently. we got rid of our cable and it has been the best thing i could have ever done for her. she is busy, she has better naps, we are more calm, the house is more peaceful. her newest invisible friend is Mogley (off of the Jungle Book movie). she marries him everyday. he goes to work. i have to comb his hair, buckle him in the car, get him dressed, hand him crayons. i dont mind it. she is happy and using her mind instead of staring at a box all day. it is amazing how much transformed by just getting rid of the tv.
:::callie is changing everyday. she talks so much and never stops. you can tell she is so proud that she can say more words. she is so polite. she says thank you to everything i give her. everything. and i am going to brag, she is the most adorable, cutest little thing. i love the age she is at. love it.
:::i was able to get 10 full hours of sleep last night! you heard that right! i havent gone to sleep no earlier than 12 the last few days. it was a much needed slumber.
:::i am getting more and more excited for Christmas. now i am kicking myself that i didnt make a count down chain with addie, that i didnt put the garland on the stairs, that the stocking arent up, that i didnt do more holiday crafts with addie, that i never made goodies for our friends and family and so on and so on. i was in a blob kinda mood this last little while, now i am feeling the Christmas cheer.
:::more festivities will be recorded in the next few days.
happy planning, wrapping, baking, making, crafting, to everyone!

call me scrooge.....

but i have not been in the mood to put my tree up. could be for a number of reasons, one of them being that it may end up like this again this year. so i sorted through the ornaments and picked out the unsentimental, unbreakable ones and let addie trim the bottom of the tree. i will leave it like this until Christmas eve, then make it pretty. until then i wont have to worry about it and she can rearrange them as she pleases.

we put on our sweaters (really didn't have to), we got in the car, we turned the radio to the local holiday station, we drove to the nearest gas station, we bought some hot chocolate, we turned the a.c. on to make it feel a little bit like December, and we looked at Christmas lights. i love driving and looking at the lights. the kids are happy. i might just go every night, seriously.

still havent started my shopping.

**the boutique is over and this is what i have left.
every item is $5.oo
NO shipping
great gift for friends, sisters, mom, daughter

i cant think of anything clever to title this post

i have been on a downer for awhile. the last few days have been very challenging for me. so i decided it was a good day to physically find and capture things that give me that pitter patter in my heart. things that make my eyes smile.

her eyes, especially after a nap. what is it about the puffy, just napped eyes that i love so much?
fresh eggs from my sister in laws chickens. the different shades of neutral, the speckles. makes me feel like i am living a simpler life and a longing to live on a farm.
the morning sun bursting through a freshly drawn window onto a bed of messy sheets. i love it every time i see it. maybe that is why my bed never gets made. :)
one of these days i will be able to pick fruit from my own backyard.
a picture that addie "stickered" hanging on my pantry door.
and this shirt that has been hanging in my closet that i love so much,(because it is the perfect color of vintage yellow, and it has a bird on it) that i was able to fit into. this time it wasn't so snug around my middle. grin.

inspiration question

tatum asked...
mmmm. Where do you find the time to sew and make so many adorable crafts? What would you say is your main source of inspiration?

well, i usually stay up late into the night sewing and doing other things. sometimes i may be so excited to get my hands on something and sew when my kids are awake. i will turn around in my chair and it looks like a tornado hit.
i find inspiration in so many places. i think my mind is always in search of inspiration all day long. when i am at the mall, i look at the clothes the manequins are wearing, the textures and color combos are always inspirational. i love love love flickr. i could browse on that all day long! you can see my favorites here. i love magazines and clip out pages. if i see colors that i love or pictures, and ideas, i cut them out and put them on my cork board above my sewing machine. it is constant eye candy, and is slowly getting sweeter.
etsy is also a great source of inspiration, as a lot of you know.
music gets me in a happy mood. it gets my wheels spinning with new ideas and things to create. i love good music.

thanks for your questions. it is giving me something to blog about with out recent pictures on hand! keep them comin!

so sad

my camera is in the shop for a few weeks. :( i feel like a part of me is missing. so lame, i know. i am sad though. we are leaving for our cruise on monday, and i wont have a camera! very sad. i may just take my old digital and see what i can do with it.
i am one who has a hard time posting words without a picture. so what do i blog about? blast from the past pictures?
or... do any of you have questions for me? any question at all, big or small, know you or not, i will answer it. :) ask me something so i can have something to blog about! please! :) ok, ask away......
