Addie, you need to eat one bite of fish before you can leave the table.
But mom, i don't want to.
You need to try it. Just try one bite.
But its gross.
You haven't tried it yet.
Its nasty.
Mark: Addie, mommy said you need to eat one bite before you can get down.
she says nothing and takes a bite.
He can work it every time.

We have the same dynamic at our house. When I was trying to potty train my son, I did everything by the book. Not too much pressure, introduce the potty, shoot for Cheerios while peeing, let him sit there several time a day, it went on and on and on and on. One day my husband said "Hey buddy, when are you going to start using the potty?" My son said "Today." And that was that and I'm totally serious.
He never needed a diaper again - day or night - completely dry. I refrain from telling this story often because it sounds like it can't possibly be true, but that is *exactly* how my son was potty trained.
that is so funny. we have that at our house too. Especially with Trent. Haylee almost always listens, but Trent can ignor me up and down, but he wouldn't dare disobey one word that dad says
we have that at our house also. i think they learn to tune out our voices b/c they hear them all day.. haha at least that's what i'd like to think!
i wish you were your brothers photographer! i was looking forward to all the awesome pictures!
I never understand the fight kids will do with the mom, but once dad says it has to be done, it's done. Mine do it all the time. I know I wouldn't be able to handle everything without the dad's voice agreeing with me. Sure helps some times.
Not fair dad's can have that kind of control. We mom's do all the work!
